Gross value added, per inhabitant

Gross value added is the difference between the market value of goods and services produced in one year and the market value of goods and services consumed in the production process. In other words, it is the value that the production factors labor and capital add to the consumed or intermediate goods and services. This indicator expresses gross value added in euros per inhabitant. The gross value added (expressed in million euros) for the municipalities is calculated as follows: S11. Companies and institutions: The starting point is the gross value added in S11 at the arrondissement level. This is distributed over the municipalities of each respective arrondissement according to the structure of the municipality in its arrondissement according to the RSZ in the following sectors: the total of all sectors minus NACE rev.2 64-66 (financial institutions), minus NACE rev.2 84-85 (government) and minus NACE rev.2 90-94 (non-profit organizations). For data from before 2007, NACE rev.1.1 is used. An annual average is made from the RSZ data. S12. Financial institutions: Analogous to S11. The starting point is the gross added value of S12. RSZ allocation key is NACE rev.2 64-66 (financial institutions). S13. Government: Analogous to S11. The starting point is the gross value added of S13. Social Security contribution key is the NACE rev.2 84-85 (government). S14. Self-employed: The starting point is the gross value added in S14 at the arrondissement level. This is distributed across the municipalities according to the annual average of the RSVZ statistics of the self-employed (self-employed, helpers, main occupation, secondary occupation, active after retirement age). S15. Non-market non-profits: Analogous to S11. The starting point is the gross value added of S15. Social Security contribution key is the NACE rev.2 90-94 (non-profits). The population is the average usually resident population. Usually resident population refers to the population that normally resides in the specified territory (Eurostat definition). The usual place of residence refers to the place where a person normally lives, regardless of temporary absences. Important in this provision is that asylum seekers are also included, at least as long as they stay or intend to stay for a long time in the host country.
