Activity rate
The activity rate is calculated as the share of the labor force in the total working-age population (from 20 to 64 years). Within the total working-age population (from 20 to 64 years), a distinction is made between the non-working population and the working-age labor force. The non-working population consists of those individuals who do not work, are not available for a job, and/or are not actively seeking a job. The labor force consists of those who are employed (workers) and those who are available for a job and actively looking for work (unemployed).

Part-time work
Number of employees in part-time work in relation to the total number of employees. Employee employment (or salaried jobs) concerns workers subject to social security by place of employment. This taxation is based on the provision of services in the execution of an employment contract or services that correspond to it (for example, statutory employees in government services). The performance of the employees concerned was reported to the National Social Security Office (RSZ), including all employees benefiting from a special social security scheme, such as miners and those equated with them, the employees of the provinces, the municipalities, the Public Welfare Centres (OCMWs), intermunicipal associations and other local public institutions (before 2018 via RSZPPO and DIBISS) and for the seafarers of the merchant navy (before 2018 via the Assistance and Welfare Fund for Seafarers). The count of salaried employment is based on the place of employment on the last day of the year. Employees who are employed by more than one employer on the last day of the year are counted multiple times. Employees who hold multiple simultaneous employment positions with the same employer are counted as one workplace. The place of employment is the municipality of the establishment unit where the employee is employed at the end of the year. Employees without a fixed place of employment, employees working at a client, seconded employees, and teleworkers are assigned to the establishment unit of the company to which they are administratively attached.
